Preschool Associate, Assistant & Mentor Teachers

Ms. Chloe Miller
Chloe Miller has five years experience working with young children in diverse educational settings, including outdoor education summer camps and early childhood classrooms. Her passion for the outdoors and eagerness to harness the benefits of nature-based learning led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Outdoor Education with an emphasis in Outdoor Leadership and a minor in Psychology at Western Colorado University. Through lectures and field-based experiences, she developed a strong understanding of what it takes to be an effective outdoor educator and how to lead meaningful experiences in nature.
Chloe is passionate about promoting inclusivity, caring for others, and fostering positive learning environments. She is currently deepening her understanding of Waldorf early childhood development through Sound Circle’s professional development course, Creating a Circle of Warmth and Love, which focuses on meeting the young child and cultivating nurturing relationships in the classroom.

Teacher Day Crittenden
Teacher Day (they/them, she/her) has a bachelors degree in Psychology from Arkansas State University and a masters degree in educational psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Their time on Oahu cultivated a passion for nature and place-based learning. They love the curiosity and magic of early childhood preschool.
This year, Day returns to the preschool as extended care teacher. She is currently taking part in Waldorf early childhood training through Sound Circle’s professional development course, Creating a Circle of Warmth and Love, which focuses on meeting the young child and cultivating nurturing relationships in the classroom.

Mentor & Parent-Child Teacher – Ms. Mindy Upton
Being a mother and teacher has been Mindy’s life/work for the past 37 years. She considers herself fortunate to be able to be in the presence of “little people” in the most magical and fascinating years of early childhood. Mindy owned and operated Blue Sky Kindergarten in Boulder 25 years. She studied movement, music, and singing at Boston Conservatory of Music as an undergraduate. Then began early childhood training, and intensive movement theory training. Mindy researched Rudolf Steiner’s work, and studied at Rudolf Steiner College, and Bottmer Gymnastic training in Spring Valley New York.
Presently, Mindy is on the board at The National Institute for Play, headed by Stuart Brown, author of “Play.” As an adjunct faculty member of Naropa University, Mindy teaches “Kindergarten Magic” a hands on course in the practice and application of early childhood pedagogy. Mindy mentors new teachers. She has recently published a chapter – a collection of writings on how spirituality can be integrated in different educational environments. Mindy’s ongoing quest is to nurture and embrace the magic of the early childhood years with love and attention to each individual child.
